Telling a Different Story One of the best commercials to come
Telling a Different Story
One of the best commercials to come out of this year’s Super Bowl was Chrysler’s commercial for
their car Detroit. I loved the commercial because it was an attempt to rewrite the story of the city.
Over the past few years Detroit has been down in the dumps. Their car companies have been cratering. Multiple massive corporations have gone into bankruptcy. The very idea that America could build a good car was under assault.
This commercial (wonderfully set to Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”) seeks to change that perception. It is a rewriting of the story of Detroit. It says, “Our hard times are a part of us. They’ll help us get to our great future. Don’t give up on us now.”
In a lot of ways, I feel like story of Destino is still to be written. Yes, there are lots of things said in the media about Latinos. But, if we were writing the story ourselves, what would we say? Where is Destino going? What does God want to do through us?
What is Destino’s story?
What is your story?
What soundtrack would best fit with either?
