How do I find out how many Hispanic students are on my campus?

After realizing the need to reach Latinos, one of the first questions you may be asking yourself is: “How many Hispanic students are there on my campus?

Here’s how you can find out. Most campuses have what is called an “Office of Institutional Research” (or some other acronym-friendly office). Their job is to keep statistics on the students who attend the school, what their backgrounds are, what high schools they come from. Most schools will post this information on the internet, so all you have to do is go to google and search for:

University of Texas Office of Institutional Research

University of Tennessee Office of Institutional Research

etc…

From there you’ll know how big your target audience is (not just for Latinos, but for all types of groupings). You’ll begin then to get a plan of how many students there are to reach!

Let us know if we can help you in any way to reach out to Hispanics and Latinos on your campus!
